2016-2017 Position Descriptions

Help promote exciting programs, events, initiatives, and services in Residential Programs, Cornell Dining, the Community Centers, and other Campus Life units. 

Hours: 10-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Summer and academic year positions are available.

Pay: TBD, depending on experience and assignments. 

Marketing/Graphic Design Assistant 

Description: Work with Campus Life Marketing and Communications staff on a variety of creative projects including design and layout of advertisements, fliers, and other promotional material. Some assistance with copy writing, research, special events/promotions, media relations, web page maintenance, and administrative support.

Qualifications: Knowledge of and experience using design and layout programs, preferably Adobe Creative Suite. Strong computer, writing, and editing skills. Must be organized and able to work under tight deadlines. Leadership and teamwork skills are required. 

Webmaster Assistant

Description: Assist Campus Life Marketing and Communications staff with development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Living@Cornell and affiliated websites. Some copy writing and work with Adobe Creative Suite programs for web maintenance. Collaboration with marketing staff is very important.

Qualifications:
Strong web communication skills. Keen eye for detail. Teamwork skills are a must. Knowledge of CommonSpot and state-of-the-art web development tools is preferred. 

Administrative Assistant/General Office Support

Description: Work within the Office of Campus Life Marketing and Communications on both routine office functions and specific projects. Includes working with office staff as a team and independently on assigned tasks, production and distribution of graphic design projects, placing advertising for events, filing, and other duties.

Qualifications: Strong written and oral communication skills. Well-developed leadership skills and teamwork abilities. Considerable independent decision-making is expected. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and web-based research is preferred.
